You can read the title as “LIES” or “EYES,” the creators say, or simply pound, yen, euro, dollar. However you look at it, this interactive theater experience is all about money, and it puts you at the table with the big shots who pull the strings of the economy. But just when you’ve been sucked into the world of big money, global markets, deals and high finance, trouble strikes.

The best way to rob a bank is to own one, as the saying goes in the financial sector. A request from the creators: “Bring some money with you. Cash, because we don’t trust the pixels on your screen that tell us how much money you supposedly possess.” Belgian theater and performance company Ontroerend Goed puts the audience in the place of the super-rich, the invisible controllers of our current economic system. For one evening, you call the shots. And now that you’re in control, surely you’ll do things differently. Won’t you?
