Festival history

Flo Fox wanted to become a photographer even as a child,. As a young girl, she asked her mother for a camera, but before the latter could satisfy her daughter’s wish, she passed away. But Flo persevered and used her first salary to buy a camera. This short film focuses on her most conspicuous life’s work, the ‘dicthology collection’. This series of more than one hundred pictures of penises started more or less by coincidence. From the first penis that Flo laid eyes on – that of Michelangelo’s David, of which she thought it was probably an artist’s conception – she was intrigued by the male sex organ. It hardly has anything to do with sex or porn, though; her photographs are primarily amusing. A penis as a hotdog, including ketchup and a roll, or with a whale on it (title: Moby…), basically they make people laugh. A striking detail is that nowadays Flo, who was born blind in one eye, is confined to a wheelchair by multiple sclerosis and has gone completely blind, but resolutely continues taking pictures.
