Festival history
I Think We're Alone Now is about two people who are in love with Tiffany, the 1980s star who sang the hit single of the same name. Jeff lives in California, just like the object of his affection. He proudly shows us his Tiffany collection, including private pictures with his heroine. He also has some court orders bearing both their names, not to mention newspaper articles about how he stalked her. Apparently, the love has been unreciprocated for many years, but Jeff sees it differently. He writes passionate letters to Tiffany and tries to make contact with her during shows or by using his self-built radiation device. In Jeff's mind, "We are linked anyway, but this increases it." Kelly from Denver loves sports and Tiffany, the latter dearly. Her house is filled with pictures of the singer. Born a hermaphrodite, Kelly has never had a girlfriend. "For some reason, I know the right person for me is Tiffany." We get to know the two devotees through stories about their complicated pasts and follow them to concerts given by their idol. Later in the film, director Sean Donnelly has Jeff and Kelly go to a show together and share experiences. Relatives and acquaintances also talk about the two fans. Although the film includes archive footage and excerpts from recent Tiffany shows, it really revolves around the two alleged stalkers.
