Festival history

All his life, the 63-year-old Rumanian farmer Alexandru Solomon Golgota has had one dream: to become a painter. Today, it looks like his dream has come true. On the walls of the local church he painted figures that reflect his interpretation of Christianity, equalling purity. The lies of the church are lost on him. He also wrote the manuscript ‘Movement for God‘, which is filled with lots of inventions. His ‘flying saucer‘ caused so much commotion that Golgota was arrested and beaten up by the Rumanian security police. Golgota only preserved the prototype of his invention, which now stands between the pigs in his barn. In the village, he is considered an eccentric outsider. In the pub, people listen patiently to his explanation of the way fertilisation comes about. ‘Try to live forever, also after your death, by leaving behind something useful for your successors,‘ he tells all those who want to listen.
