Festival history
Filmmaker Anne Makepeace and her husband cannot have children, which is why they are consulting a fertility clinic, as is extensively shown in BABY, IT‘S YOU. But Makepeace also looks around and shows how her two brothers and her sister are managing. Like Makepeace they belong to the baby boom generation, and in individual ways they try to start new families. She pays a visit to her elder brother in Utah, a polygamist who is convinced that polygamy is the best way to have children. She also calls upon her younger brother in Appalachia, who leads a secluded life in the company of twenty goats. Her sister and sister-in-law are lesbians. They are the only ones in the family who have brought a child into the world, with the help of a sperm bank.
