Saxana, Jonas, and Lea sit together on the bus ride that marks the start of every school camp excursion. Jonas leans against the window and sleeps, or pretends to sleep. Lea and Saxana discuss hair problems and giggle about wearing or not wearing underwear. Saxana lustfully fantasizes about getting a lift from a 19-year-old dark-haired hunk with a six-pack in a leather jacket. The school camp has only just begun but these 14-year-olds’ hormones are already raging.

Trio shows what happens beyond the organized, educationally responsible activities at a school camp. We follow the trio from their departure to their return a few days later and experience their boredom, friendship, exclusion, and hidden tensions. Directors Benjamin Bucher and Agnese Làposi show us the dynamics among the three teenagers, their obsessions and insecurities, their fleeting moods, and their relationships with other classmates. With apparently effortless precision they capture moments on the way to adulthood that are hard to grasp and yet feel very familiar.
