Festival history
Winter 1992. In a small Austrian village on the Czech border, widower Josef Paur has been living alone for one year. The end of the stock of meals – still prepared and frozen by his wife – is in sight. So time has come for Josef to look for another wife. After the war, widow Paula Hutterová was one of the few German people who could stay in the small Czech village just across the border. Now she lives in a small house without running water, together with her dogs and her black-and-white television as her most precious possession. With the newly gained freedom in her country she hopes that everything will become like in Austria. Josef Paur sees his chance.
