It is the world’s longest border between two nations, 8900 km that cuts through mountains, prairies, forests, lakes, and rivers to separate Canada from the United States. Yet for more than a century, the frontier between these two countries has been one of the most unique boundaries on the planet, with communities on either side of the border connected by history, heritage and blood. Canadians and Americans once took pride in traveling back and forth across our shared border with little thought about our different cultural backgrounds, political views, or religious beliefs.
