The IDFA Bertha Fund is now accepting project submissions to the IBF Europe – International Co-production funding scheme. Read more about the grant and apply by April 1, 2021.
The IBF Europe – International Co-production scheme encourages European producers to participate as co-producer in high-quality documentary projects by filmmakers from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. This funding category caters to documentary projects in all stages of production and offers a maximum contribution of €40,000 per project.
Recent films supported through the IBF Europe – International Co-production category include Radiograph of a Family (dir. Firouzeh Khosrovani), The Earth is Blue as an Orange (dir. Iryna Tsilyk), and Downstream to Kinshasa (dir. Dieudo Hamadi).
In line with the Fund’s mission, the selection committee will pay particular attention to supporting producers from countries with limited national co-production funding schemes, or from countries that are not yet fully involved in international co-productions.
Check the complete list of MEDIA sub-program countries and the IBF Europe Country List to see if you and your project are eligible.
The deadline to submit a project for the upcoming selection round is April 1, 2021. For the regulations, entry form, and submission FAQs, please visit our info page.
