95 min
A documentary about the first actual victims of global warming on the island of Shishmaref, part of the state Alaska. Each year, the winter storms terrorize the island. Large areas of Shishmaref have already crumbled into the ocean. It has been predicted that the whole of Shishmaref will disappear in less then ten years time. The Inupiaq community is facing a forced move to the main land. It will be a dramatic change of their life. Three Inupiaq families will be followed in two contrasting seasons: summer and winter. The documentary will address universal themes of identity and transcendence.
