Welkom in het leven, lieve kleine BIS

In 1963 Ed van der Elsken made a film about his wife Gerda and their children Tinelou and Daan Dorus, entitled WELKOM IN HET LEVEN, LIEVE KLEINE. Eighteen years later he happened upon this film and after watching it again he decided to make a sequel, as a sort of follow-up. Tinelou and Daan Dorus are then twenty and eighteen years old respectively. The daughter is still living in the same house as her mother, Daan Dorus has found a room in a squat. Van der Elsken and Gerda‘s marriage has ended. Small chronicles of the Nieuwmarkt quarter in Amsterdam.
