Het Documentaire Paviljoen is ready for a new season!
After a short summer break, the Pavilion will officially reopen its doors on September 4th with a new program. Once again, you can expect thought-provoking short films, remarkable documentaries, and interdisciplinary programs. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming up in the next few weeks.
Starting Wednesday, September 4, join us every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at The Documentary Pavilion for (short) films on the big screen, debates, immersive experiences, workshops, and more. Highlights include the restored classic Caméra d’Afrique (2023) by Férid Boughedir, the recent festival favorite Our Body (2023) by Claire Simon, and the personal sci-fi documentary Once an Alien (2023) by Semâ Bekirović. We’ll also host special evenings with WePresent, De Groene Amsterdammer, and OneWorld.
Under the banner Unreleased, we’ll showcase thought-provoking, moving, and inspiring films that aren’t part of the usual festival circuit. This fall, look forward to titles like Tempestad (Tatiana Huezo, Mexico, 2016), Notes on Displacement (Khaled Jarrar, Palestine, Germany, Qatar, 2022), Orlando, My Political Biography (Paul B. Preciado, France, 2023), and In Praise of Nothing (Boris Mitic, Serbia, Croatia, France, 2017).
We hope to see you then!
