First names of Vondelpark Pavilion opening week revealed

On March 16, the time will finally have come for the official opening of the Vondelpark Pavilion. The occasion will be marked by a versatile program curated by leading filmmakers, artists, and school students.

We’re thrilled to announce several names that make up a polyphonic composition of makers who reflect on today’s challenges with visionary imagination and eloquence. Makers we deeply admire, and each presents their own unique style, approach, and perspective.

Each day of the opening week program will be curated by a different maker, in which their own films will be screened next to those of their greatest inspirations and contemporaries, alongside talks, workshops, performances, and various program components.

The first confirmed maker is celebrated documentary filmmaker Ester Gould, known for the prize-winning documentary series Klassen and Schulden. Emerging director Festus Toll will also be responsible for a day program, in addition to a day shaped by Virtual Reality artist Ali Eslami.

More names to be announced and the opening week ticket sales will go live on February 29. Keep your eye on our channels for more!
