Promises to Keep

Promises to Keep follows agitator Snyder and the Community for Creative Non-Violence by showing film-fragments, news-bulletin images from records, and newspaper headlines. The film starts off with a broken promise by the federal government to provide the homeless of Washington D.C. with proper shelter. For Snyder, this is the beginning of a hard and lengthy period of sit- ins, hunger-strikes, and TV-discussions, in the hope that he can thus force the government to live up to their promise. After four years of fighting bureaucracy the promise is finally fulfilled.
