The starting point of Sins of my Father is the retelling of the life and times of infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar by, primarily, Escobar's only son, Sebastian Marroquin, as well as Juan Manuel Galan and Rodrigo Lara Restrepo, sons of Escobar's most iconic victims celebrated Colombian reformist politicians Luis Carlos Galan and Rodrigo Lara Bonilla.
