Festival history

A large former monastery in the town of Oudenbosch now accommodates a boarding school. The children that live here cannot live with their parents, for one reason or another. Some have seafaring parents, others live at the boarding school because their father and mother travel across the country with a fairground attraction or a circus. And then there are children who have temporarily been banished from the parental home. There are three groups in the school, ranked by age: the is for children from 6 to 12 years old, the for 12 to 15 and the eldest children are accommodated in the . This two-part documentary introduces some of these children. Nancy (11), for example, and her best friend Daisy, and Maykel and Katja from the . They explain that it might look congenial to live with all the other children, but that they would still prefer to live with their parents.
