The IDFA Bertha Fund is now accepting project submissions to the IBF Europe – Minority Co-production funding scheme.
The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2024.
With this call, the Fund seeks to encourage European producers to participate as a minority co-producer in high-quality feature-length documentary projects by filmmakers from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Oceania. IBF Europe – Minority Co-production caters to documentary projects in all stages of production, offering a maximum contribution of €40,000 per project.
Films that were recently supported in this category include A Picture to Remember (dir. Olga Chernykh), Our Land, Our Freedom (dir. Meena Nanji, Zippy Kimundu) and Ozogoche (dir. Joe Houlberg Silva).
In line with the Fund’s mission, the selection committee will pay particular attention to supporting producers from countries with limited national co-production funding schemes, or from countries that are not yet fully involved in international co-productions. Check the complete list of MEDIA sub-program countries and the IBF Europe country list to see if you and your project are eligible.
