As we find ourselves in a time characterised by accelerated change and an unnerving sense of uncertainty, Shaping Bonds turns its attention to the ecosystems that surround us, asking what they might teach about coexistence.
This year, Shaping Bonds takes Stinky Mirrors, a miniature swamp-like ecosystem by Amsterdam-based visual artist Venus Jasper, as a vantage point. Inspired by this installation, the program focuses on different environments typically regarded to be 'undesirable'.
About Shaping Bonds
The annual Shaping Bonds program explores the material relationships that shape our world. Each year begins from the practice of one artist or collective and expands in collaboration with others through films, talks, workshops, and installations, delving into the connections between humans, nature, and other living beings.
